Structural Analysis/Stress Analysis

Structural analysis or Stress analysis is extremely beneficial in manufacturing scenarios where cost, material, weight, strength etc., need to be optimized or where safety factors need to be determined. Structural analysis is also a cost-effective alternative to experimental testing. It can be a great tool for the product designer to know ‘safe design space’ for his product, and to see what design variables influence the performance of the product, and how they influence it.

O2I’s Structural Analysis Methodology

We carry out Finite Element Analyses on products or concepts to validate them before manufacturing, determining safety and performance levels with respect to strength, cost, manufacturability, life etc., evaluating multiple “what if” scenarios. This process can effectively be used to optimize the design, lower risks during manufacturing as well as the probability of failure during the usable life cycle of the product.

Structural analyses are carried out to find a structure’s response to a load. We ensure that through the pre-processing, Stress Analysis and post-processing stages, the model reflects reality, and that results are captured and analyzed from a design and functionality context. Design sensitivity analyses are carried out to analyze interdependencies and probabilistic analyses are performed to ensure that the probability of failure is low.
